RPBEE Experts Discussed Energy Market Designs

As the advisers with PTIT to Thailand’s Energy Policy and Planning Office (EPPO), Romkaew Broehm and Michael Schaal at A-Delta gave a public talk to Thailand’s government officials, utilities, regulators, and educators on: “Path for Electricity Sector’s Transformation: Participating Resources Integration,” and “Competitive Markets for Natural Gas: Enabling Competitive Electricity Market,” respectively.  The public talk was a result from their report that not only discussed lessons learned from the international electricity and natural gas markets, but also evaluated options that EPPO ought to take to reach the end-state scenario and its goals, given the disruptive changes (decarbonization, decentralization, and digitalization) in the electricity industry.  Additionally, Dr. Broehm has provided recommendations on the path that Thailand should take to transform its existing electricity and natural gas market structures towards clean and more competitive landscape.
