Electricity Market & Trading Workshop
Many short-term wholesale electricity markets around the world trade under a centralized auction system with a single market clearing price. Certain markets reached a state of maturity even though they had numerous rounds of market reforms. And in some places they continue to refine their market rules in responses to technological changes and government policies.
The training courses will focus on the development of the U.S. wholesale power trading, both spot and forward tradings. In addition, you will learn about the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s third-party transmission access and other market design policies, bilateral trading, bidding, and Locational Marginal Pricing. This 4-week training will be composed of six main sessions:
Session 1: The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Open Access Transmission Policy and Implementation (Boston, MA)
Session 2: Bilateral Trading and Auctions in Organized Market (Boston, MA)
Session 3: Reliability and Business Standards (Atlanta, GA)
Session 4: PJM Markets and Operations Training (PJM, PA)
Session 5: PJM Transmission Initial Training Program (PA)
